Specialist areas of surgery
Ms Claudia Di Bella is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and specialises in the following areas of surgery:
- The management and treatment of bone and soft tissue tumours
- Knee replacement surgery
- Hip replacement surgery and;
- Management of early and late arthritis involving the hip and knee.

Education and training
Ms Claudia Di Bella is a European trained orthopaedic surgeon who obtained full recognition in Australia, by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and by the Australian Orthopaedic Association, of which she is a Fellow.
Ms Di Bella has extensive experience in orthopaedic surgery having trained at the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute in Bologna (Italy), recognised as one of the most renowned orthopaedic hospitals worldwide, in particular for bone and soft tissue tumours.
Having completed her orthopaedic training in Italy in 2007 and obtained a PhD in oncology in 2012, she became full member of Royal Australian College of Surgeons and Australian Orthopaedic Association in 2014.
She moved to Australia in 2009 and completed her fellowship in musculoskeletal tumours at St Vincent’s Hospital here in Melbourne, where she joined as a consultant in 2014.
Ms Di Bella is heavily involved in the training of junior doctors, being appointed as Senior Lecturer in surgery at University of Melbourne.
